Principal's Message

August 2019

Greetings Clayville Families;

On behalf of the teachers and staff, I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year! This year promises to be filled with enriching opportunities for all students, as we continue to strive for ways to better our school community. Currently, our team is hard at work preparing materials, creating student-centered classrooms, and cleaning the facilities to welcome our students back to a shiny building!

Here at Clayville, we will continue to celebrate the traditions of the past, while also embracing the challenges of the future. Our staff is committed to providing outstanding educational opportunities in a safe and nurturing environment. Thus, we are excited to implement new curriculum in both literacy and mathematics to ensure students receive an excellent education. Curriculum changes will be outlined at our upcoming Open House. Throughout the year, teachers will also provide materials to help families support the curriculum at home. As always, we remain committed to teaching and modeling our belief system guided by our 6 Core Values; Respect, Inclusion, Caring, Honesty, Effort, and Responsibility.

Further, we recognize that student success relies on the support of the entire community. It is important that we cultivate a strong partnership between parents and the school in order to ensure student success. We encourage you to contact us if and when the need arises and to stay updated about your student’s academics, activities, and other happenings. Clayville School values your active involvement and support in your child’s education!

The wonderful Clayville staff and I look forward to seeing new faces and catching up with familiar ones on August 27th, our first day of school! I also would like to invite you to attend our Open House and Ice Cream Social event on Thursday, September 5th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. This will be a great time to meet our staff members and other families, and learn about the upcoming school year. We will begin with a brief school-wide meeting in the gym and from there you will have the opportunity to visit classrooms and enjoy ice cream, courtesy of our PTO.

As we begin a new school year, we invite you to visit and bookmark our new district website, https://www.scituateschoolsri.net/ and your child’s school website, https://clayville.scituateschoolsri.net/ for the latest information! As always, please do not hesitate to reach out with any suggestions, questions or concerns. My email address is Francis@scituateschoolsri.net. I can also be reached by phone at Clayville, (401)-647-4115. It remains an honor and privilege to serve as your school principal!

Warm Regards,
Courtney Francis, Principal
