Dear Clayville Families,
I am reaching out to let you know that I have decided to modify my maternity leave and return to Clayville early, on May 6th, 2024. I will be working half days until the end of the school year. This will allow me to address most issues while I am in the building, and I will address any non-emergent issues the following day.
Please know that should urgent needs arise, both the superintendent and curriculum director are in the Clayville building.
I’m looking forward to rejoining the Clayville community in-person and hope to help ensure that students, staff, and families have a positive end of the school year.
See you all soon,
Sarah Hess
Clayville Elementary School Principal
March 2024
Dear Clayville Families,
I’m emailing to let you all know the happy news of my pregnancy and that I will consequently be going on a 10-week maternity leave.
I will miss seeing students and families daily while I am away, but trust that they will continue to thrive under the guidance of my substitute. In my absence, the plan is for Mr. Michael Breault to serve as interim principal at Clayville. He is a certified principal with many years of experience who has substituted at Clayville in the past. I feel confident that he is a great fit for Clayville.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns while I am away, you may contact Mr. Breault at michael.breault@scituateschoolsri.net or Ms. Reynolds at elfie.reynolds@scituateschoolsri.net. You may also call the front office at (401) 647-4115.
Below, you will find a letter of introduction from Interim Principal Mr. Breault. My maternity leave will begin Monday, Mar 18, 2024.
Sincerely,
Sarah Hess
Clayville Elementary School Principal
Dear Clayville Families,
I am excited to return to Clayville for a brief stay as interim principal while Mrs. Hess welcomes her new member of the family.
I have been in education for 50 years. I spent 30 years as a teacher in classrooms at the elementary, secondary, college and postgraduate levels. My last 20 years have focused on administrative positions including extremely rewarding principal opportunities.
In 2016, I retired from full-time employment and focused my energies on interim positions as administrator at the elementary level.
I look forward to working with the students and teachers at Clayville.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Michael D. Breault
August 2023
Welcome, Clayville, to the 2023-2024 school year! We are working hard to get the school ready for students’ first day on August 30th and I could not be more excited to get started!
Although I am new to Scituate this year, I come to Clayville with 15 years of teaching and administrative experience in public, private, and charter schools in Rhode Island, including serving as the principal at Henry Barnard School and a literacy coach at Highlander Charter. I hold a B.A. in psychology from Wellesley College, an M.A.T. in elementary education from Roger Williams University, an M.Ed. in educational leadership from Rhode Island College.
I am thrilled to be taking on this new challenge and cannot wait to apply all I have learned about literacy, numeracy, collaborative coaching, administration, and reflective practice to support students, families, and teachers at Clayville!
This year, my goal is to get to know everything and everyone in Clayville. I hope to meet you in the coming weeks, either at the Virtual Parent Meet and Greet on August 28th (4:00-4:30pm), at arrival and dismissal, or whenever we cross paths at Clayville.
Looking forward to a wonderful school year!
Mrs. Sarah Hess
